We learned from Chinese media reports that counterfeit Coenzyme Q10 products are being illegally produced and sold under the “Qunol” name by Guangdong Shipade Biotechnology Co., Ltd. We wish to unequivocally clarify that the products in question are not manufactured, authorized, commissioned, distributed, or supplied by Qunol in any capacity.
Qunol is a brand owned by Opella. All genuine Qunol products are manufactured in the United States. We stand firmly behind the quality of every product we manufacture, and each batch undergoes rigorous oversight to meet all regulatory requirements as well as our own high internal standards.
Regarding our official sales channels, we want to inform our customers that our Tmall and JD Overseas Flagship Stores are currently offline due to a pre-planned transition with our local operating partners in China. Please be assured that this planned operational update is entirely unrelated to the recent counterfeiting incident.
We deeply regret any losses suffered by consumers who purchased counterfeit products. Consumer safety is our guiding principle --even above our own sales. Because our official flagship stores are undergoing a planned transition (expected to complete after June 2026), we strongly advise all customers in China to temporarily pause purchasing Qunol products from any third-party e-commerce storefronts.
Qunol resolutely oppose all forms of counterfeiting, trademark infringement, and false promotion. We have swiftly established a dedicated task force and have already taken decisive action to protect the legitimate rights and interests of our consumers and our brand. These actions include:
- Filing Formal Reports: We have filed formal reports with market supervision authorities and public security organs. We are fully cooperating with their investigations and will pursue full legal liability against the responsible enterprise in accordance with the law.
- Clearing E-commerce Platforms: We have coordinated with major e-commerce platforms to conduct comprehensive screenings to remove and block counterfeit product listings, effectively cutting off the distribution channels for these fake goods.
Opella and Qunol will continue to actively cooperate with regulatory enforcement agencies to protect consumer rights and maintain a fair, and safe marketplace.
